Ocular Biometry

The absolute highest level of accuracy in ocular measurements

Accurate measurement of key ocular biometrics such as axial length and anterior chamber depth is critical in cataract surgery as well in the management of myopia. We are proud to utilise the gold standard in optical biometry, the Zeiss IOLMaster 500.

Perimetry

Gold standard automated visual field analysis

Perimetry is the measurement of visual field function. Defects in central and peripheral visual fields may be caused by various medical conditions such as glaucoma, stroke, brain tumours and neurological deficits. We are proud to utilise the gold standard in automated perimetry, the Zeiss Humphrey Visual Field Analyser.

Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)

Non-invasive imaging of retinal and optic nerve structure

OCT is a non invasive imaging technique that uses reflected light to image the retina in great detail from the vitreoretinal interface right through to the choroid. It has become the standard of care for the detection and diagnosis of a variety of macula and optic nerve diseases.

Goldmann Applanation Tonometry

Gold Standard Intraocular Pressure (IOP) Measurement

We routinely use Goldmann Applanation Tonometry for the measurment of intraocular pressure (IOP). This method is both more accurate and comfortable than non contact, 'puff of air' methods.
